hi, i'm elijah

Systems person. Restless traveler. Recovering English major.

I run revenue operations and analytics at Walker Sands, a B2B agency in Chicago. In plain terms: when a leadership team asks "what's actually driving pipeline?", I make sure there's a straight answer. I do that for dozens of clients, across every CRM you can name.

I came at this sideways. English degree, a stint as an assistant editor, then a master's in curriculum and instructional leadership. Editing taught me to spot where a structure breaks. Teaching taught me that a system nobody can learn is a system nobody uses.

The rest of the time I'm usually somewhere new. The job travels well, so some weeks the office is a hammock, a vineyard, or whichever café has the best Wi-Fi.

travel

Always booking the next one

This year: Kenya, Tanzania, and Zanzibar, from Nairobi to the Serengeti and the Ngorongoro Crater. I chase waterfalls and street food, and I've survived one epic lost-luggage saga.

training

In the gym before the first call

I lift most weekday mornings and run with a local run club. Hybrid training: heavy deadlifts, Norwegian 4x4 intervals, and half marathon prep.

kitchen

Keeping a sourdough starter alive

I cook a lot, and lately that means bread. The starter is the one system in my life that never misses a scheduled run.

music

Four instruments and counting

I've played music my whole life, across four different instruments. Current project: teaching myself electric guitar.

games & sports

Soccer, hoops, couch co-op

NBA, NFL, and international football on the TV. Cyberpunk 2077 or a few rounds of NBA 2K when I'm home.

curiosity

History, maps, and a cat

I read a lot of history, geopolitics, and economics, and I'm slowly picking up Spanish. A cat supervises all of it.
